Jackie Patterson Hooper spent half of her career as a newspaper reporter in suburban Chicago, New Hampshire, and Vermont. During the early 1990s she was a reporter at The Brattleboro Reformer. For the past 20 years, she was involved in marketing the performing and visual arts and continuing education at Keene State College. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Marquette University. Her husband is Stephen L. Hooper, a photographer in Keene, N.H., and brother of another Word Project book writer John R. Hooper, both are sons of John S. Hooper and grandsons of Howard C. Rice, publisher of The Brattleboro Reformer.
